DNS-Only Servers Increase your DNS redundancy

cPanel's DNSONLY software allows you to run a dedicated physical name-server, which you can then link to your web server(s) using WHM's DNS Clustering feature. This means that any change to your web server's DNS information will automatically be sent to the DNSONLY server, eliminating the need to run name-server software on your web server. In the event that your web server has an outage, your DNS information will stay accessible.

How it works

The system works by allowing administrators with multiple cPanel servers to simplify and centralize DNS. Since cPanel allows the end users to modify DNS records these modifications have to be made on each DNS server hosting that domain. With a DNSONLY system you can configure each of your primary cPanel servers to send its DNS records to a dedicated DNS cluster. From there the cluster will store those changes and publish them. Not only does this system separate your DNS infrastructure from your hosting servers, but it also allows you to simplify your operation by no longer needing to create separate name-servers for each of your hosting servers. You can now create two or more name-servers that all of your customers can use!
